Did you know that there is a Google calendar for each of our schools and for Derby Public Schools events? These calendars can help you keep up with what is happening around the district. The Derby Public Schools calendar lists important district-wide events including start and end dates, conferences, holidays and more. Each school's calendar shares important dates specific to that building, such as picture day, concerts, parent group meetings, etc.
You can find a brief list of upcoming events on the district website (www.derbyschools.com) and on each of the school's web pages HERE under Upcoming Events.
For a quicker way to access this information, you can also subscribe to each of these calendars. In order to subscribe, you must use your own Google calendar account - this is often linked to a Gmail account. Google Calendar offers an easy way to keep track of multiple calendars in one place. You can subscribe to the Google calendar for each school and for the district. The steps are listed below or you can view a PDF with step-by-step instructions, along with screenshots of the process, HERE.
How to Subscribe to a Google Calendar:
1. Open your Google Calendar (calendar.google.com, then log in).
2. On the left, next to Other calendars, click Add other calendars (the +) then From URL.
3. Copy & paste the calendar's address into the field (URL by calendar below). Click Add calendar.
4. The calendar will appear under Other calendars.
*Note: Changes may take up to 12 hours to show in your Google Calendar.
Can't see a calendar after adding it? Try this tip:
• Click on "Settings" under the gear-shaped icon near the top-right of the browser window.
• On the "Settings" page, scroll down to the section "Settings for other calendars" where calendars you've added will be listed.
• Make sure the calendar is not hidden. If the calendar is hidden, there will be an icon resembling an eye with a backslash next to the calendar name. Click this icon to make the calendar visible.

Can You Subscribe from a Phone?
In most cases, the answer is - Yes! The Google Calendar Help Page states that you will use the phone's browser (not an app) to subscribe. If this does not work, it may be necessary to subscribe to calendars from a computer. Once subscribed, the calendar can be made viewable within the Google Calendar settings on the phone.
