Home Visits

If you are pregnant or parenting a child who is under 3 years of age, you are eligible for home visits. During a home visit one of our certified parent educators will come to your home, or you may come to our facility if you prefer. The parent educator can conduct various developmental screenings, as well as hearing and vision screenings. Various developmental activities that you can make at home will also be provided by your parent educator. A parent educator will typically visit your home once a month for about an hour at each visit. If the parent educator feels that your child may have some developmental delays, they will be able to direct you to a program to help assess your child's possible delays. Home visits are a great way to learn different activities to help your child put their sensory abilities to work. Also, receiving home visits and being enrolled in our program is completely FREE. To participate in Derby Parents As Teachers you must reside in the Derby School District.
